New Vaccine For Rheumatoid Arthritis

If you've suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for a long time, maybe you should listen to this good news. The researchers at the University of Queensland found a new way to treat rheumatoid arthritis injecting nano-particles that contain peptides.

In the first phase human trials they took a sample of patients' blood, added an anti-inflammatory and the "foreign" peptide, then re-injected the modified cells back into the patient.... inflammation was noticeably reduced.

The researchers currently are working on "a more practical way for patients and a more cost-effective way". They believe that it will address the root of arthritis instead of masking the symptoms.

This involves a nano-particle — small particle that encapsulates the peptide ... and an anti-inflammatory drug in order to target the cells that we had taken out in the trial.

But in this case we target them in the body directly. So it would be an injected product that targets those cells in the patient.
